Ginkgo trees are amazingly resilient and can live for 1000 years or more, so the image of a ginkgo is commonly understood as a symbol of longevity and endurance. Ginkgo leaves were a popular motif during the arts and crafts movement. Ginkgo trees were a favorite of Frank Lloyd Wright.
